Paper on Enterprise Architecture Documentation accepted for publication at WI 2013

A research paper has been accepted for publication at the 11th International Conference for Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI 2013). The paper entitled “Enterprise Architecture Documentation: Current Practices and Future Directions” reports on a survey among 140 Enterprise Architecture (EA) practitioners to analyze issues organizations face while documenting the EA and keeping the documentation up to date. The author team (Sascha Roth, Matheus Hauder, Matthias Farwick, Ruth Breu, and Florian Matthes) present results on current practices, challenges, and automation techniques for EA documentation in a descriptive manner.

Article on Enterprise Architecture Documentation accepted at HICSS 2013

A paper on Enterprise Architecture (EA) Documentation has been accepted for publication at the 46th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS).

Current research activities seek to automate the EA data collection process by integrating existing EA information sources of operative systems. However, a comprehensive analysis of possible information sources and their appropriateness for EA is not yet provided.

To build an empirical basis, the author team (Ruth Breu, Matthias Farwick, Matheus Hauder, Florian Matthes, and Sascha Roth) presents an empirical analysis of information sources for automated EA documentation endeavors. The paper includes findings of a survey conducted on the appropriateness of specific EA information sources for automation with respect to provided data types and data quality.

Paper on EA documentation challenges accepted at TEAR 2012

A paper on EA documentation challenges has been accepted at the 7th Workshop on Trends in Enterprise Architecture Research (TEAR 2012). The author team (Matheus Hauder, Florian Matthes, and Sascha Roth) presents major challenges for an automated EA documentation based on 1) a practical example from a global acting enterprise, 2) a literature review, and 3) a survey among 123 EA practitioners. The identified challenges are synthesized to four categories and constitute the foundation for future research efforts and pose new questions not yet considered.

Paper accepted at i-KNOW 2012

The paper "Multi-faceted context-dependent knowledge organisation with TACKO" was accepted at the i-KNOW 2012 conference.

In the paper, the author team Florian Matthes, Christian Neubert, and Alexander Steinhoff introduce TACKO, a novel organization scheme that is inspired by the flexibility of tagging systems and incorporates elements of hierarchical and faceted organization schemes.

Article on automated EA documentation published at AMCIS

An article has been published at the 18th Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS). In the article "Automating Enterprise Architecture Documentation using Models of an Enterprise Service Bus" the author team (Markus Buschle, Mathias Ekstedt, Sebastian Grunow, Matheus Hauder, Sascha Roth, and Florian Matthes) investigate a specific Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) as an information source for automated EA documentation.
