This thesis builds upon the Legal AI Use Case Radar Report, a dynamic and evolving resource that annually updates the state of Legal AI use cases through surveys, interviews, and literature reviews. While the Radar highlights current use cases, this study aims to deepen its insights by capturing how these use cases evolve over time and identifying shifting trends within the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).
An updated literature review will form the foundation of this analysis, tracking the changing relevance of NLP use cases and uncovering both emerging applications and declining priorities in the legal sector. Additionally, this study will provide new Experience Reports based on semi-structured interviews with legal professionals, documenting real-world challenges and opportunities in integrating NLP technologies.
Published on the Legal AI Use Case Radar website, these insights—along with an analysis of Ethical, Legal, and Social Aspects (ELSA)—will contribute to ongoing refinement of the Radar. By expanding its scope to include trend mapping and real-world applications, this thesis aims to ensure the Radar remains a valuable resource that reflects the latest advancements and practical impacts of Legal AI.
